I had an absolutely horrible shopping experience on monday. Remember how I said shopping with Leslie was great? Well, these people were the exact opposite.
I went shopping with amanda, dara, and ben, three people who went to my hebrew school back in the day. To say they they were not good shopping buddies would be an understatement.
First we go into pacsun. I dont really like pacsun so I go in anyway because I'm not going to be all "I'm too cool for pacsun *huff huff*" I looked around and kept an open mind.
Then we go into hot topic. another store I'm not fond of. amanda liked hot topic for like band tee shirts and stuff so I was hoping that if I looked, I could find like, a heroes shirt or something. I didn't. But the fact that I kept an open mind to a store I didn't like was an amiable thing to do, right? Wrong. Apparently, normal people make a big deal and refuse to go into stores they dont specifically like, and keeping an open mind to other things is a big no-no.
We approach urban outfitters and I'm antsy to get inside because I hadn't been to a real Urban in weeks (online doesnt count). They dont want to go into urban. I say please, and they follow me in. About two minutes later, I look around and I dont see anyone i was with. I get a text from amanda saying "where r u?" and I say, "near the jeans. where r u?". she says "outside."
umm...wtf?
I go outside to see why they arent in the store and all they have to say is "we dont like urban outfitters." umm.... are you kidding me. I mean, #1) i don't understand why anyone wouldnt like urban, but thats not the point. the point is #2) when your friend goes into a store, you dont leave without even looking at the clothes, you keep an open mind and if you dont like it, that sucks. So I made my purchases (to be posted when I wear them) and left, meeting up with them outside.
Next, we pass american apparel. I cant pass an american apparel without going in, but amanda says "I dont like american apparel." wasn't she the one who dragged me into an AA in the city because that guy gabe from cobra starship liked that store? I'm like, "whatever, lets go in" and shes like "no. we're not going in." So I was like "
Ok. screw you guys. be bored outside the store and do nothing." So I went in and looked around but I couldnt try anything on because I felt very rushed by them. To buy good things, I have to be in a calm environment.
Oh yeah, and I wanted to buy this really cute shirt at forever 21 but the rest of them werent willing to wait on line so i couldnt buy it.
and on top of all that, they made me eat. I DON'T LIKE TO EAT WHEN I'M SHOPPING! WHY SHOULD I SPEND MONEY ON FOOD WHEN I COULD GET IT FOR FREE AT HOME!!?? I dont need to eat in the city. I dont need to eat while I'm shopping. Why should I consume extra calories when I'm in an "I dont need it" mindset?
But you know what. It doesnt really matter. Because that night was Heroes. and it was really good. How is it that a simple tv show could bring my day from a 4 to a 10?
In case you were wondering, Sylar was ADORABLE. he saved Luke. It was really heroic and cute.
